Currently, I am working with Thea Lafond, an Olympic triple jumper. In addition to her rigorous exercise regime, my technique helps her beat her personal record by 15 inches and qualified her for the 2017 IAAF world championship.(https://www.iaafworldchampionships.com/events). I encourage you to follow her efforts there (qualifying — 5Aug morning; finals – 7Aug evening).

“Raju did an outstanding job with the athletes. The success that this team experienced would not have happened without Raju. He was an invaluable member of the team.”Craig Masback, CEO USA Track and Field.( National Governing body for track and field )

Results

“I highly recommend Raju for any sport massage endeavor. He did excellent work at the 2000 U.S Track and Field Championships in Sacramento CA. Because of his outstanding work, I frequently ask him to be teaching assistant in the sports massage therapy workshops that I teach.”

Elliot Greene, M.A., NCTMB, National President, American Massage Therapy Association

“Raju’s thorough understanding of muscle physiology allows him to apply stretching techniques unlike any other massage therapist I have ever encountered. He is exceptionally adept at identifying and adressing the massage needs of his clients.”

Steve Eschhoiz, President, Fitness Crafters

“Raju has unparralled understanding of how the body moves and works, its complecity and subtlety. You will never find a more commited therapist. He takes great pride in helping and healing. He is a massage tehrapist of great talent and real mastery.”

Max Goldstein, Executive Director, Help Unlimited Temps, Inc

“I have had a massage from a large number of different therapists all over the world but I have never come across anyone with Raju’s unique combination of training, communication ability and intuitive response to the human body.”

Scott MaBerry, Partner, Weil, Gotshal, Manges, LLP (law firm), Washington, DC

“I have seen many professionals in the past 2 years to address my back and leg pain. I have seen physical therapists, pain specialist, podiatrist, orthopedic surgeon and neurologist. I have seen acupuncturist, counter strain therapist and chiropractor. Only Coach Raju has identified the source of my pain and shown me the path to healing. He is an inspiration and a gifted practitioner.”

“It is a pleasure to write this recommendation for Raju Manta. I am a physician-scientist with an injured shoulder who has been advised to have a shoulder replacement. For a variety of reasons, I am not able or ready to do so at this time. About 6 months ago, when I first saw Raju, I was walking and carrying myself in a lopsided fashion because of painful contractions of my right rotator cuff and associated shoulder muscles.  After a couple of months, Raju was able to significantly reduce the guarding and chronic contractions of these muscles with the result that I now walk normally and symmetrically, able to swing my arms and have less chronic pain. My shoulder joint remains limited in that  I restrict raised arm movements but I am in less pain and making slow but certain improvements in shoulder movement. I will work with Raju for another 6 months and then reevaluate the prospect of surgery. If I proceed to surgery, the promise of a good result will likely be improved as a result of my treatment with Raju.”

“I have worked with Raju for close to 10 years and he consistently gives 110% of his time, energy, and expertise. Raju is passionate about the critical role stretching, exercise and massage play in everyone’s overall health. He has a remarkable understanding of the human body and can be helpful with a wide variety of physical problems that may stem from an injury or overuse or even the aging process. It is not exaggerating to say that Raju is both a healer and an educator.”

“I met Raju in 1997.  Since then, I have had seven back operations in which nine of my discs were fused, as well as two menisci cleanings leading to two total knee replacements.  Arthritis has been my scourge, but Raju has been my secret weapon against it.

Raju cannot improve an arthritic joint.  But Raju can and did improve everything else.  For fifteen years, until I left Washington, Raju led me through a sustained effort to improve the strength and flexibility of the soft and connecting tissues around my deteriorating joints that allowed me to minimize my discomfort and improve my function and range of motion.  This sometimes felt like pushing Sisyphus’s rock – working and improving until the next crisis – but without it, I would have become a passive traveler through the world. Like the proverbial man who has learned to fish, Raju’s teachings have stayed with me.

And I’d like to thank Raju as well for the friendship we developed as we worked and that I value greatly.  I’ve know many physical therapists, masseurs (different from credentialed massage therapists!), and other practitioners who “wear a mask” of sociability when working with Raju.  But Raju has never failed to be anything other than Raju, straightforward and clear, unhesitating in delivering the good news and the bad.

I am glad to have this chance to express these views and to let people know what Raju offers as a therapist and a person.  I recommend Raju unhesitatingly and enthusiastically to those who are yet to take a journey towards wellness.”
